I recently finished my first year of teaching 6th grade in Florida! I have to take a moment to reflect on the year that I have taken so much from. Since the last time I posted, I was hired to be a substitute for Brevard County Public Schools. I continued working for Olive Garden while searching for substitute and permanent jobs to open. I was able to sub in one 3rd grade class before I was called for an interview at a local Brevard County public school. I landed a position as a 6th grade teacher who would see two homerooms per day to teach Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies. The entire year was such a great learning experience, not only from the other professionals that I worked closely with, but a lot from my students as well. I learned that a key part of a successful teaching professional is attained by communication; communication with students, parents, administration, and other teaching professionals. I can’t wait to see what the next year holds!
